“If you aren’t judged, did you even happen?”

Hoping for the end of that very real … is it belief? Paradigm?

Great post, Julie!

Thanks Holly!

It happens all over, not just to women - but it's been deeply encoded into female culture.

What I do admire about Kim, Gwyneth and Hailey Baldwin Bieber -- whose company was acquired by elf yesterday for

$1 BILLION

(Even though her own husband judges her publicly on social media)

Is that they work the reality and make it work for them. Obviously these are premium lifestyle brands based on beauty and fame. But they don't pretend to be otherwise. If more brands, humans, founders could own who they are and who they are for, resolutely and without apology.

We'd all do so much better if more of us could learn to turn controversy and haters into a source of power or at least accept and let them wash away vs fueling fear, mediocrity and shame.

Because we are deep in judgment and hater culture right now. It just is. We need to work with it as we try to extract ourselves out of it personally.

We talk a lot about men but women need to work on our own misogyny first as we can influence that. We can't control what men think.

If we can't lift each other up, at least don't tear each other down as step one.

Our infighting and jealousy is a distraction and weakening force that only serves... you know what's coming.... yes... THE PATRIARCHY.

I really like Elise Loehenen's On Our Best Behavior for a smart yet digestible examination of this.
