Obvi my spending habits are different (cuz unemployment), but I'll also say - my relationship to spending / money is shifting. Due to the times? Due to age? Am I finally growing up? I dunno... but I'm simplifying, and remembering what it was like to grow up in the 80s on a farm and adapting some of that mentality to our lifestyle. Wish my poor spoiled kid good luck.
Hear you! Covid and having a startup at the same time really changed my appetite. I spend so much more on my son than myself these days - which was fun before he had opinions!
I got into estate sales last year because the quality and intrigue of the housewares is so much higher. I like the soul embedded in the objects (If it's good juju obviously). But walking into these homes is a gut punch that in the end, it's just stuff. A mess to clean up. Empty things for people paw over, judge, trash. Landfill fodder.
But I don't love the idea of coffee going up 50%. No estate sales for that!
